Patterson Law welcomes Allison Avery to its New Glasgow office

There’s a new associate working primarily out of Patterson Law’s New Glasgow office.
Allison Avery recently joined Patterson Law from a Pictou County-based law firm where she completed her articles and practiced as an associate. Avery was called to the Nova Scotia bar in October 2020 and has experience in the areas of family law, criminal defence, property and estate matters.
“Allison Avery brings to our clients a phenomenal work ethic and the ability to successfully apply herself on a wide range of files,” said Kate Harris, co-managing partner of Patterson Law. “We are delighted to have someone of Allison’s calibre and passion for making a difference in Pictou County join our team.”
Allison holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours in Psychology) from Acadia University and a Bachelor of Law degree from Dalhousie Schulich School of Law. Born and raised in New Glasgow, Avery returned to Pictou County five years ago to raise her family. Active in the community, Allison is the current chair of the North Nova Education Centre Music Auxiliary and a volunteer with the Pictou County Women’s Resource and Sexual Assault Centre. She is also an active volunteer supporting youth sport, including minor baseball and hockey.
“Allison recognizes that the work we do in the legal profession has broader implications beyond the courtroom or the boardroom,” added Jennifer Hamilton Upham, co-managing partner of Patterson Law. “We believe that the quality of a community, like the quality of a law firm, depends on the commitment of its members. With her Pictou County roots and drive to serve others, Allison epitomizes this belief.”
