Welcome Three New Associates
Published June 9, 2017
Bucking the growing trend of reducing associate hiring levels, Patterson Law is welcoming three highly accomplished associates this June.
Erin Creighton will be practicing corporate commercial law from the Truro office. Matt Wallace will focus on corporate commercial law in the Halifax office. Paul Niefer will concentrate his work on commercial litigation and criminal law in the Halifax office.
“At Patterson Law, we know that hiring talented, outgoing young lawyers keeps our business strong,” says George White, Managing Partner. “Their professional skills flourish when they get to work with our exceptionally skilled lawyers. And the social skills we seek in our new associates ensure they’ll build great networks for our business.”
All three associates have revealed their talent and work ethic in their academic and personal lives. Erin received Dalhousie’s Stewart Lockie Gibson Memorial Prize in 2010 and was awarded the Hon. Richard B. Hanson scholarship for achieving the highest overall mark in Constitutional Law. Paul received the Harold G. Fox Education Award for showing exceptional promise, the Alistair Fraser Award for the second highest standing in second year, the William A. Tomblin Memorial Prize for highest standing in Bankruptcy Law, and was named to the Dean’s Honour List each year of law school. Matt received the New Brunswick Law Foundation Scholarship for academic excellence and the Harry Scott Scholarship for high academic achievement and focus on corporate law. He has also excelled in his community work that includes being a member of Pro Bono Students Canada, a UNB Law Peer Mentor and a volunteer with the Student Legal Information Center.
George White knows these new associates will help sustain the firm’s client-centred approach. “We are constantly seeking out bright legal minds who have the interpersonal skills to excel in client care. Erin, Paul and Matt are going to be great additions to our team.”
